Hey guys, it’s Ro! Welcome to another Nerdy
Nummies! It is summertime, and it is pretty hot here
in California, so I wanted to make a chilly geeky treat today! And, I wanted to make popsicles, it has been
a year since I’ve made popsicles last. And I thought, why did I do that, why did
I wait so long? So today, we are gonna be making Pacman Ghost
themed popsicles, because I wanted to make the different colors and
make a variety of yummy recipes for you guys to choose from. So, we are gonna be using the Zoku today,
this is one of my all time kitchen favorite gadgets, because it flash
freezes popsicles. We are gonna be making 4 yummy popsicle recipes
today, so I’m going to explain how to do each one individually, one
for Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde! And, we are gonna start off with Clyde. Clyde
is the orange ghost, so we are gonna be making an orange creamsicle
popsicle, so you could call it a… Clyde-sicle! Alright! The things you will need, will be:
a whisk, a mixing bowl, 1-1/2 cups of orange juice, 1-1/2 cups of
low fat vanilla yogurt, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1/2 a teaspoon
of vanilla extract. Now let’s put ‘em all together! The first thing that you’re gonna do is
freeze your Zoku base, for 24 hours before you use it. So you’re
gonna want to pop this in the freezer the day before you want to make these popsicles. And I’m gonna go put this back in the freezer
while we make our first recipe! I love creamsicles! They’re so good! This is one of my favorite popsicles! So you’re
gonna take your orange juice, pour it into the mixing bowl. Your vanilla
yogurt, oh gah, ohp! Oh shoot! Sorry Clyde! Then you’re gonna add your sugar and your
vanilla. And then you’re gonna whisk it all together,
until it’s evenly combined. Once your creamsicle popsicle mixture is all
mixed together, we’re gonna set it off to the side and put
it in the fridge while we make our other recipes. Oooh this so hard for me not to eat clyde
right now! Oooh om-nom-nom-nom-nom-nom! The next popsicle recipe that we’re gonna
make is a pink lemonade popsicle. Husky Starcraft loves lemonade, so I think
these are gonna be one of his favorite, for the pink ghost Pinky! How many, I don’t know how many times I
just said pink! A lot! But, the things you will need for this recipe,
will be: a sharp knife, cutting board, 3 lemons, a juicer, I’m doing
a hand juicer because I like it, it gives me a little bit of a workout! You
can use an electric one though, those are a little bit easier. 1 teaspoon of grenadine, 1/3 cup of sugar,
2 cups of water and a whisk and a mixing bowl. Now let’s put it all together,
make some Pinky Popsicles! The first thing we’re gonna do is cut our
lemons in half and then juice ‘em. Right down the middle, don’t get your fing-ies! Put it right on top, twist, twist, twist,
twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist! Now we’ve got our freshly squeezed lemon
juice and the gunk’s here at the top, and we got our juice down here. And this little
gadget has got a pour spigot, so I’m just gonna pour it right
into the bowl, then you’re gonna add your sugar. And we’re gonna whisk it
together until the sugar has completely dissolved. Now we’re gonna add the 2 cups of water
and the 1 teaspoon of grenadine. And then we’re gonna mix again until it’s
combined. The next popsicle that we’re gonna make
is a red popsicle for the ghost Blinky. And it is going to be a fresh strawberry popsicle. The things you will need, will be: A blender,
1/2 a cup of water, 16 ounces of fresh strawberries, 1/4 cup of sugar, a whisk,
mixing bowl and a sifter. Now let’s put it all together! The first thing that we’re gonna do is pour
all of our ingredients into the blender. And blend! Ooooh! Our strawberries are all mixed up,
and now we are gonna pour it through our little sifter here, into the bowl. Oh that smells so good! So many fresh fruits
today! Then I’m just gonna whisk around the contents,
pushing through all the liquid. It prevents a lot of those embarrassing seeds
in your teeth moments! Which happens to me a lot. It’s all mixed up now, and now I’m gonna
pop this in the fridge with our other popsicle mixtures, and we are gonna make our
last popsicle. We’re gonna make Inky, the blue one! The last recipe that we’re gonna be making
is a blue raspberry pineapple slushy popsicle! I don’t know about you guys, but
I love slushies, and love blue raspberry, and this one’s gonna be for our blue ghost
Inky! The things that you’ll need, will be: one
drop of sky blue food coloring, this part is totally optional. 1/2 a cup of
blue raspberry syrup, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1/2 a cup of water, 1-1/2 cups of pineapple
juice, and 1/2 a cup of lemon juice. You’ll also need a whisk and a mixing bowl,
now let’s put it all together! First thing that I’m gonna do is add the
juices to the mixing bowl, so we’ve got our pineapple, and lemon. And then I’m
gonna whisk in our sugar, and mix it until everything is evenly combined.
Then we’re gonna add our water and blue raspberry syrup! Our blue raspberry popsicle mixture right
now is a light teal color, and if you want to you can stop right here, but
I wanted mine to look a little bit more blue, just like little Inky, so I’m
gonna be adding one drop of sky blue, and then whisk it up one more time! All of our popsicle mixtures are in the fridge,
and now it is time to decorate, this is my favorite part! We’ve got an apple, a little bowl of water,
and a blue airhead, we are gonna make the ghosts’ eyeballs, and they’ve
got blue eyes, so you can use any blue candy you’d like. I just like Airheads, so…
I use that one! The first thing that you’re gonna do is
take a sharp cutting knife and you’re gonna cut the apple into thin slices. That one’s a little
too thin, he’s like see-through, you don’t want it to be see through so…
That one’s a snack! Once you’ve got your apple slices cut out
you’re gonna take these two little small, round, they look like cookie cutters,
they come with the little Zoku Character kit, and we’re gonna cut
out some big circles. Then take your smaller little circle cookie
cutter, and we’re gonna cut out where the eyeballs are gonna be. And remember,
ghosts, their eyeballs always face the same way. Once you have all your little apple eye cut-outs.
You’re gonna dip them in water, this little bowl, really quick, bewp! Bewp! And then you’re gonna place them on top
of this rubber spatula, it’s like a popsicle spatula, and then taking your really
small cookie cutter again, you’re gonna cut out little circles into
the blue airhead, and then place them inside of the eyeball. Take your Zoku out of the freezer, and you’re
gonna flip it oo its side, like this, it comes with a little stand. doo-doo!
To stabilize it. And now, we’re gonna stick on the little
eyeballs. So you’re gonna carefully insert the rubber
spatula, and then press up. And the little fruit and candy will stick
to the popsicle device. Kind of like when you lick a pole, dewmp!
In the wintertime! Then you’re gonna do this to the rest of
your pops, this Zoku only has three slots, and we have four recipes, but the popsicles
set so quickly, they set within eight minutes, so you can just keep using
this over and over again! Or, I’ve actually got two, I kind of went
a little crazy with it! But now you’re gonna do this to rest of
your popsicles. We’ve got our little eyeballs in there,
and now we are gonna fill up our popsicles. You’re gonna take these little guys, they
come with six sticks, and you just place them right down in there. And then, you’re
gonna pour in your popsicle mixtures. First we’re gonna pour in Pinky, our pink
lemonade. And you’re gonna fill it all the way to
the fill line, there’s a little line at the top. Then our strawberry, for little Blinky. Oooh yum, it’s like a strawberry smoothie! And our pineapple blue raspberry slushy for
Inky. Don’t worry you guys, I’ll get to Clyde in
the next batch! He’s kind of the odd-ball out anyways, Inky,
Blinky, Pinky… And Clyde. We’re gonna wait about eight minutes for
these to set, and then I’ll show you how to take ‘em out. Wee-ooo-wee-ooo-wee-ooo! Bewm, bewm! Once your popsicles have frozen we’re gonna
pop ‘em out. You’re gonna take this little jobber, he’s
got a screw right here, and then you’re gonna place him on top, screw him
down, and then you unscrew it, and then you pull him out. Ba-dew! Oh my gosh! He’s
so cute! And now you’re gonna do that to the rest
of your popsicles! And over here, don’t forget, you can add
one of these little guys on, at the bottom, they just click and attach. Isn’t
that neat? Ah! Ta-da! Here are our Pacman Ghost popsicles
that we made today! We have, Pink Lemonade Popsicle recipe for
Pinky. Blue Raspberry Pineapple Slushy Popsicle for
Inky. Fresh Strawberry Popsicle for Blinky. And, Orange Creamsicle Popsicle, for Clyde! I hope you guys enjoyed all of these yummy
popsicle recipes for the summer! I’ll be posting lots of pictures on Facebook,
