Microwave Sabudana Khichdi Recipe – How to make Sabudana Khichdi in Microwave

Welcome to nishamadhulika.com Today we will prepare sabudana khichdi in microwave. Sabudana khichdi is usually prepared for vrat which have very pleasing flavor. There are two types of sago pearls; one with small granules and other with big granules. If we are using small granules sago pearls then soak them for 1 hour. If you are using sago pearls with big granules then soak it for 7-8 hours. We are making khichdi with small sago pearls and we have soaked it for 1 hour in water. Let’s see what all ingredients are required for making sago pearls khichdi. Sago pearls – 1 cup Soaked in 1 cup water Potato – 1 (chopped into small chunks) Peanuts – ½ cup (roasted) (ground coarsely) Green coriander – 2 tbsp (finely chopped) Oil – 2 tbsp Lemon juice – 2 tsp Green chilly – 1-2 (finely chopped) Ginger – 1 inch piece (grated) (1 tsp paste) Cumin seeds – ½ tsp Red chilly powder – less then ¼ tsp You can also use black pepper powder instead of red chilly powder. Salt – ¾ tsp Use Saindha salt instead of plain salt if making khichdi for vrat. Take microwave safe bowl for making khichdi. Add oil in bowl and microwave for 1 minute. Take it out and add cumin seeds. Microwave for 1 more minute. Take out the bowl and add green chilly, ginger and potatoes into it. Mix all ingredients nicely. Cover and microwave for 3 minutes. Potatoes have become tender now add sago pearls into it. Also add red chilly powder, salt and peanuts. Mix all ingredients really well. Add ¼ cup of water and mix well. Place back bowl and microwave for 3 minutes. Take out bowl and stir khichdi. Add green coriander and lemon juice as well. Keep it as it is for 5 minutes as standing time. After cooking in microwave food continues cooking for 3-4 minutes. After this take out khichdi from the bowl. Khichdi is ready. Serve within this bowl or take it out in other one.
