What’s up guys its Lucie. Welcome back to
my YouTube channel. Today we are talking about something delicious and nutritious. It’s
smoothie time. That’s annoying. My goal for today’s video is to really inspire you
to go to the grocery store, buy some fresh produce and make some smoothies. So today
I’m going to give you 5 life-changing smoothie ideas that you can try out this summer. One
note about my smoothies, I’m not gonna break it down for you like, ½ a cup of this, and
a teaspoon of this and a tablespoon of this. That’s not how I make my smoothies. I look
at my blender and I throw in whatever I want. Sometimes I add more of an ingredient if I
want to change the color. I add more liquid if I want it to be thinner. It’s totally
an eyeballed process for me so I’m not about to give you exact measurements. If you’re
looking for exact measurements, maybe go to another video. Smoothie number 1. I’m gonna
start out with one of my all time favorite green smoothie recipes. Green smoothies are
great for me because sometimes I don’t get enough green throughout the day, so throwing
them in a blender is a really great way to get them in and you can even mix them with
fruits and sweetener so that it’s not quite as green. For this smoothie I throw in some
baby spinach and baby kale. I chop up one nectarine and throw it in. You can also use
a peach for this if it’s peach season. I fill it up with 100% natural coconut water
and I sprinkle on some ground cinnamon. Blend it all together, it’s bright green and it’s
delicious. Smoothie #2. Probably the prettiest smoothie you’re gonna see today, and that’s
because it’s made with Pitaya. I have these Pitaya Plus pouches. They’re dragon fruit
superfruit smoothie packs. So inside this bag there are four individual pouches and
you just squeeze them in to make the smoothie. You can also use this to make incredible Acai
bowls. Really beautiful. For this smoothie I mix together this pity plus with one banana
and some fresh cut strawberries and then I topped it off with almond milk, blended it
together. There’s seriously nothing prettier than a pitaya smoothie. If you walk out of
the house with that people will be staring at you at the street because it’s blindingly
bright. But it’s so good for you, it’s a superfood, it’s organic, it’s high in fiber
and magnesium — great! For the next smoothie we’re going to the opposite color range.
We’re going from this bright pink pitaya smoothie to something that looks almost black.
But it’s not. It’s really just a deep, deep, deep blue. I put in baby kale and baby
spinach once again. Then I fill it up with blueberries. I use frozen blueberries so that
I didn’t have to add ice, too. Sometimes when you add ice in smoothies to make it cold
it makes it a little bit watery, so using frozen fruit is a great tip. I put a scoop
of protein powder. I used Vega plant-based vanilla flavored protein powder but you use
any kind that you like. Then I poured in almond milk and squeezed in a little bit of honey
for some sweetness. Blend it all together, it is dark blue. Like Jack’s Mannequin dark
blue. So yummy. Smoothie number 4. This one’s a fun one because it’s layered, so it has
two parts. For part number one I added frozen strawberries, almond milk, a couple of spoonfuls
of greek yogurt and another squeeze of honey. Once I blended that together I realized it
wasn’t as pink as I wanted it to be so I threw in fresh raspberries for color. Trust
your eyeballs. And once I had the color that I wanted I poured that into the cup as the
base, and then it was time to make a small extra portion which is gonna be just floating
at the top. I diced up a fresh, sweet mango and because it was sweet I didn’t add any
sort of honey in there, but if you’re using a not sweet mango think about adding any form
of sweetener, and then another couple spoonfuls of greek yogurt. Blended it all together,
it’s very thick, and you pour it right on top of the pink mixture and you have this
sunrise situation going on. And for smoothie number 5, this one is one of my favorites
because it’s more of a dessert treat because it’s chocolate. This is for all those chocolate
lovers out there who love chocolate milkshakes and cocoa nibs but still wanna be healthy
and eat superfoods. For this recipe I used one and a half frozen bananas, a tablespoon
of raw cacao powder, and a tablespoon of that vanilla protein powder. Then I put a teaspoon
of vanilla extract, a little bit of water and some cocoa nibs. Blended it all together.
It was chocolate. And there you have it. My five summer smoothie ideas that I hope inspire
you to try something new this summer. Please let me know if you have any smoothie ideas
below. I love trying out new smoothies and I also love the fact that there are so many
fruits around the world that I haven’t tried yet that one day I’m gonna put in my smoothies.

  • I have been SO into smoothies the past few months, I loved these new ideas for the summer!! I was wondering if you could close those mason jars and keep those smoothies in the fridge to drink throughout the week or if they would go bad? I'd love to be able to 'meal prep' my smoothies but I've always been afraid of them going bad!!

  • Lucie you're not alone, I'm just like you πŸ™‚ I throw everything in my blender without measuring! Here's the smoothie I make every morning : frozen banana, frozen mango, frozen raspberries and almond milk. It's pink and super yummie. I bought chia seeds for my smoothies but I haven't used them yet. I will try your first green smoothie, looks delicious!!!

  • an apple, a tsp of almond butter, some oats and oat milk is my favorite smoothie! πŸ™‚ I love your recipes, especially the last one sounds amazing! πŸ™‚

  • I love smoothies to, I'm 11 and my mum always used to make me smoothies so me being me I tried it myself over the past year I made up my own recipe which is so so easy,

I use Raspberries or Blueberries (I like raspberry better in a smoothie for colour and sweetness)
Then I put it Greek yogurt (if you want a smoothie that is thin and easy to sip use less yogurt)
Then I add a little bit of milk I eyeball it I like mine thick so I don't add as much milk

And there you go, I add a decent amount of Greek yogurt and a small amount of milk and I get a sorbet like drink which I use a spoon to enjoy

This smoothie is healthy but so so sweet like extremely sweet so I use it as a healthy replacement for junk food please comment if you used this recipe it would make my day If someone else tried it πŸ’ž
