Because of Australia fires over a billion animals have been dead It’s sad to see that climate predictions come true. Scientists are not able to reach the masses, because no changes have been made so far We have to immediately turn down factory farming Coal has to stop being in the power supply system All day and night we should develop alternative fuels Climate catastrophe is preventable and we have all the technology and knowledge but no, science is speaking to deaf people and bangs its head against the wall The world is lead not by an intelligent behavior of an intelligent person but by powerful money that deprived oil and meat industry of common sense Australia ranks first in coal export and is very developed in factory farming, but is the one to lose its coral reefs and its beautiful land as a result of the devastating effects of climate change which was caused by factory farming and oil production. The rest of the world barely advanced in question of greenhouse gas emissions. We have to stop right now. Government resignation growth of Post State Duma, boycotts, strikes, uprising are very needed. And for those of you is in the beginning of active climate position I gathered 20 little steps but I think that if we would implement all of them, changes will be drastic. Write down your goals for the next year. One of my goals is to plant 1000 trees throughout different online platforms. For me that’s a really high bar but I always multiply my goals by 10 This concept actually works because when you aim high, you start planning absolutely different. Besides goals for the year, I keep my financial budget for about 10 years already where every month in Excel I take into account my income and expenses. I want vegans and eco-activists to be prosperous and the first thing to do is to create two files “Goals for the year” and “Monthly budgeting” According to the report of “The Economist” veganism is the most appropriate lifestyle for the environment. Why is it so hard to realize that 7 billion of people can’t be compared to 150 billion of animals in factory farming. This obvious nonsense leads to a total collapse. I try to cook everything from scratch but a couple of times a week eat vegan semimanufactures. You can check out my recipe Playlist or try one of the 50 recipes from my free ebook. The third step might seem obvious but it played a huge part in my life, it’s “The ability to say no”. If you don’t like some offering instead of trying to slip out of the situation or even saying yes to it, you can reject an offer right away in a polite manner. On my channel I get a lot of cooperation offerings but for now they’re not suitable for me, I invest my time in things that are going to bring me closer to my goal. I feel like in the comment section of every video, no matter what’s the topic, climate change, minimalism or veganism I get a comment like “Where I live it’s not possible” Swedish relatives in the beginning were telling me that I’m vegan just because we Russians can’t afford to eat meat. Russians, in reverse, that I’m vegan because in Europe we can afford it. Guys, I already probably represent, by standards of many, something impossible. “A vegan in cold climate” My two homes are Siberia and Scandinavia. On ninth month of pregnancy, while it was snowing, I drove bicycle to my work one hour a day. We all are humans and all live on the same planet. I perfectly understand that everyone has his own situation and we have to move from it. But generally beans are 4 times cheaper than meat on one gram of protein. And the only thing I’m asking for is to try to walk more and use public transportation. Shouldn’t we be ready to get through the dogs and the quicksand for the well-being of our planet? And somebody doesn’t enjoy taking the bus… Please. To me it looks like the most important button of current time is “unsubscribe” or “unfollow”. Recently I unfollowed everyone on Instagram because noticed that I waste my time in Instagram feed, and now start to follow somebody whose content is truly important to me. I made 2020 my first without-shopping year. The rules of zeroing everyone sets for himself, for me it’s no shoes, no clothes, no accessories, no makeup. I’m not going to buy any additional stuff, and it’s better for me to buy basic clothing and care cosmetics when the previous ones are finished, a bottle of shampoo, for example. “No gadgets” In the midst of my celery juice consumption my juicer has broken and if it won’t be possible to fix it, I’ll buy a used one. My overall consumption in the last years has decreased anyway but because of the extreme climate situation I think that stop-shopping is a necessary action right now. You can call less-shopping. In our apartment house we have a room for separating garbage and often I can see that neighbors don’t follow the German rules for separating trash and leave little baby strollers where just one button was missing. Why we as a society don’t value material things anymore, can’t just fix a little thing and in the end throw it away? But because of my stop-shopping I get clothing or toys fixed until they look too bad to be worn. I easy to get used to this mindset and now I take a better care of my things than before, where sometime ago I could throw out a good jacket with broken zipper. Never throw things away, you have to donate it, give a bunch of old clothing to second-hand, a charity organization for people in need, homeless help center. Want to say that I leave one exception for myself, specifically for kid’s clothing. I try to by local, eco-friendly things for children too, which is a little more pricey than regular clothes in the shops, though I often by from second-hand stores, which is cheaper. But it would be unreal to make my husband do the same, and their grandparents also bring stock clothes as gifts. Recent I discovered a German service of clothes for rent the main idea is similar to libraries but only for clothes. I think that this service, especially for special occasions or holidays on the mountains, will definitely pay off. Find this type of sharing service in your area where you can rent electronic devices, sports wear. Since last year I started washing clothes with 30°C and drying it in an old way, instead of drying machine. And regarding washing with the fool machine, in a family of 5 the problem is missing. If you go get a coffee, ask to pour it into the thermos. If you go out to eat, bring a container in case you won’t eat the entire plate. When we go out with kids, I bring a bottle of compot or water with me anyway so that I wouldn’t buy it packaged. Don’t have anything to say here, just make your health a priority to you, effectiveness of our movement depends on it. Try to buy furniture, mattresses, blankets made out of natural materials to avoid plastic. If you wash your hair every day, try to wash it every other day, if once in two days, try every three days, like me. “Use ethical cosmetics” It’s 2020, we don’t need to test anything on animals. I buy new makeup products when the previous ones are finished. I always have only one mascara, foundation, liner, a couple of lipsticks and a couple of nail polishes. I buy toilet paper made of recycled paper. Most of cleaning products you can make at home using soda, vinegar, soap and lemon acid. Just look around your house and think what can you replace without using so much plastic. Local enterprises normally purchase local raw materials, all this combined means less transportation. Buy those devices, which were officially sold in the past, but then returned by warranty because of some breakage. Those gadgets go through the whole process of repair and tests before the second time selling. So, yeah, you buy second-hand, buy it would be authorized, restored product with warranty, and I wouldn’t buy unauthorized second-hand products. Keeping everything in order is the main step for prosperity and freeing up the space. Here’s the clothes of a two-year-old Ax without warm clothing. “Learn how to recycle properly” Research about the recycling program in your city, find out where to give carton, glass, batteries. Decide what to do with food scraps because they take from 30% to 80% of the space in a trash bin, like in my case, for example. Unfortunately if you would throw it in a regular bin, it won’t become a compost because of the lack of oxygen. If you live in Germany, like me, I hope that you already found a renewable energy source provider, it will take you 5 minutes to do, one call and they’ll switch your electricity to sun, wind, geothermal hydro, whatever you want. One call in Russia will not be enough so here I suggest to find out the option for your specific region. For example, In Ulianovskaya region there are wind farms. In Orsk a huge sun power station. The largest geothermal station in Russia works in Kamchatka. Currently GES provides 20% of Russian power generation and is the leader of renewable energy source. I understand that as all of the renewable energy sources, GES has its own problematic sides, but for almost 10 years I worked with turbines of environmentally friendly design, oil-free impeller bushings, and the entire construction was optimized for minimizing harm for the planet. In Norwegia 99% of renewable energy is produced by GES, In Sweden and Canada its about 50%. We don’t have the luxury of a gradual response anymore, it’s necessary to immediately stop hydrocarbon production. Commodity economy sounds like a cursing, current usual business Is like a crime against humanity. So at this specific turning point we have to make an enormous effort, for 10, or 100 people. 2020 is our crucial year, we will turn back time and stabilize the temperature rise as it’s shown by the blue line.
